Solution with G-Bit LAN for PC
The NetCeiver design includes three tuner slots for
DVBS, DVB-S2, DVBC, and DVB-T. This gives you all
the fl exibility you need as these are freely
interchangeable. In using three Dual Tuner Cards
for DVB-S you have six independent Tuners at your
disposal.
Programmes from six satellite transponders can be received and transmitted over the network to your PC. The DVB-S2 Tuner is fully HD compatible, providing all the hardware needed for HD decoding to cater for future requirements. The NetCeiver is connected to the PC via Gigabit Ethernet, providing enough bandwidth to receive many HD datastreams simultaneously.
In contrast to most of the DVB applications for the PC on the market, the NetCeiver has been designed to take account of current and future developments in the area of PC based DVB Digital Home solutions. NetCeiver searches through the number of available tuners, supporting DVB-S, S2, C, and T as well as gigabit network technology does. Considering the growing number of encryptionsystems used by an increasing number of suppliers to protect their premium channels, comprehensive Common Interface provision is now inevitable. The NetCeiver concept is distinct from stand alone systems: In addition to the two Common Interface slots catering forCI Modules handling PAY TV decoding a third one can be added. The design caters for two additional Smartcard readers. Manufacturers and customers are benefi ting more than ever before from revolutionary advances provided by Gigabit Ethernet over USB products. Through the use of professional network technology, incompatibilities which have frequently restricted the use of USB products are avoided. For example the NetCeiver can be installed on the roof in proximity to your satellite dish. The costs of cabling – especially when using several networking connections – are greatly reduced. Only one gigabit compatible CAT 5 or CAT 6 cable is required to transfer the datastreams across the network. The Netceiver circuit board provides one additional PCI slot and one P-ATAcontroller to cater for additional Peripherals and Mass Storage devices.
